What documents are required for a DreamSpring loan application?
Getting ready to apply? Depending on the amount you're requesting, we'll need different documents to complete your loan application.
Check out the lists below to prepare ahead of time. If you have questions or want to connect with a lender, we're happy to help. Contact us!
Every loan application starts with these:
- A valid photo ID (driver’s license or government-issued ID)
- A selfie photo of you holding your ID
- Your three to six most recent months of bank statements — personal, plus business if applicable. We’ll typically ask you to share these through Plaid, a free and secure service that connects to your bank on your behalf.
-
- Statements should show no more than one overdraft per month.
-
- Your average daily balance must cover the loan payment by at least 1.5 times.
- Address verification, if the address on your application doesn’t match your bank statement or ID — such as a utility bill or lease/mortgage statement
Loans of $15,000 or more — we’ll also need:
- Your most recent paystubs, if you have wage income
- A business profit & loss statement
- Last year’s personal and business tax returns
- A business debt schedule, if applicable
Loans of $50,000 or more — we’ll also need:
- A personal financial statement
- A business balance sheet
- One additional year of personal and business tax returns
- A formal business plan with three years of financial projections (if your business has been open for less than two years)
Loans above $100,000 — we’ll also need:
- One more year of tax returns, bringing the total to three years of personal and — if applicable — business tax returns
