As a nonprofit lender, DreamSpring is committed to supporting small business owners with capital and encouragement to succeed. While we want to create opportunities for as many entrepreneurs as possible, there are limitations to the industries and types of businesses we can fund.
We work with both startups and existing small businesses, but cannot provide loans to the following industries:
- Liquor Stores and Bars where alcohol sales account for over 50% of sales. We can fund distilleries, microbreweries, and wineries.
- Tobacco, E-cigarettes, and Smoking Accessories
- Firearms and Weapons
- Pornography or Businesses of a Sexual Nature
- Games of Chance or Wagering
- Predatory Lending Services
- Marijuana or Medical Marijuana (this includes industrial hemp and CBD)
- Speculative Investment Businesses (such as house-flipping)
- ATM Businesses
Multi-level marketing businesses, like Mary Kay, Avon, Amway, and others, are allowed but the maximum loan size is $2,500.
